Vision

At the heart of our vision is Trauma Informed Care and the example provided by our founder, Marsha A. Woodland. We aim to create a positive cultural change towards the needs of trauma survivors, while reducing & eliminating violence through education. This education is focused on relationships between trauma and violence, as well as other social challenges.

Mission

Our mission is to erase the stigma associated with Domestic Violence and Trauma by providing alternatives to traditional manners of practice, service and treatment; utilizing core principles of Trauma Informed Care implemented through our consumer-centered and strength based approach for consumers and providers.

    If you are an agency serving victims/survivors
    Building Bridges offers support to agencies by providing trauma informed approaches and peer perspectives to improving  participant and agency outcomes.

    If you are a victim of domestic violence
    Building Bridges will offer guidance and support by way of crisis intervention, peer support during any criminal justice proceedings, safety planning and linkages to other victim services.

    If you feel like you are failing at helping a victim
    Our members can help guide you by providing peers to be at the table to evaluate and assist in reshaping and/or outlining policies, practices and procedures.
